Why work at Tilegne Therapy?

Tilegne Therapy is a social enterprise created to solve a huge problem – the lack of therapy services to disadvantaged, migrant and multicultural communities in Australia. We are creating person-centred, evidence-based practice, supporting families navigating the world of disability with compassion and authenticity.

We’re a team of passionate, innovative and driven allied health therapists who want to deliver speech services to families living across Australia, particularly those from disadvantaged, migrant, or multicultural backgrounds.

As a social enterprise and with the privilege of being selected for YGAP’s first Gens accelerator program, Tilegne is committed to pledging at least 1% of its profit back into the company and causes in aid of vulnerable communities.

Tilegne Therapy works within the UN Sustainable Development Goals working towards Goal 3 – Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages and Goal 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

We believe in a world where people of colour with disabilities are embraced by society. Right now, the reality is 4.6 million people in Australia have a disability, that is 1 in 5 people. Research has shown that people of colour are more likely to have a disability than any other demographic group.

As a therapist you will make a real difference in our community and in  your profession. A career at Tilegne will help you “be” the impact and change that you want to see in the world. You will thrive in meaningful work and grow in authentic ways.

You may be an early-career graduate or an experienced therapist, the number of years do not matter. All we need is for you to be as passionate about this issue as we are. We need you to have an open mind,  embrace innovation and maintain high quality services.

Join an organisation leading innovation

At Tilegne we’re committed to innovation. As a team we’re always looking for better ways to deliver therapy and help our clients achieve their goals.

In 2020 we set up a small garden to embark on incorporating  horticultural therapy to complement traditional therapy models. Horticultural therapy is an emerging field that uses specially designed sensory/ therapeutic gardens of different textures/ colours and smells in a treatment program.

Plants are non-judgemental and respond to the care they are given. Growing and caring for plants invokes a sense of satisfaction.

Gardening can provide an incredibly empowering experience for those who have lost power, enabling them to care for something and regain a sense of control in their lives. Garden therapy can remove barriers and access to traditional therapy models within the confines of a clinic room, and promote lasting change.

As a Tilegne therapist you can contribute to innovation of the profession.

Upskill with generous Professional Development opportunities

Tilegne therapy has held many training programs which have benefited over 300 professionals. Some training we have hosted over the years include Hanen MTW, DIR Floortime and Maude Le Roux Sensory Processing and Dyspraxia courses. As a valued team member you will first access to these courses and a generous professional development allowance for external training.

At Tilegne we provide a number of pathways and options for continual development. Examples of career development opportunities  within the organisation are: talks to external organisations, Quality Improvement projects,  clinical specialist skills training, clinical educator training and leadership opportunities.
